PYA STL West Representative

The STL West Representative serves as PYA’s primary liaison to the STL West league. This role focuses on communication, compliance, coordination, and advocacy so PYA stays aligned with league rules and deadlines while representing PYA’s interests professionally and consistently.
Purpose of the Role
The STL West Representative ensures PYA maintains strong communication and good standing within STL West. This role helps PYA meet league requirements, understands rule changes and deadlines, and communicates league information back to PYA leadership and program coordinators in a clear, timely way.
Primary Responsibilities
1) Primary Liaison to STL West
  • Attends league meetings and represents PYA professionally
  • Serves as the main contact for league communication and escalations
  • Builds cooperative relationships with other associations and STL West leadership
2) League Rules, Bylaws & Updates
  • Stays current on STL West bylaws, rule changes, and season requirements
  • Communicates changes to PYA leadership and affected coordinators
  • Helps interpret league guidance and routes complex questions appropriately
3) Deadlines, Submissions & Compliance
  • Tracks league deadlines (team declarations, roster requirements, approvals, etc.)
  • Coordinates required submissions with the correct PYA leaders
  • Flags compliance risks early so PYA can respond before deadlines
4) Advocacy & Representation of PYA Needs
  • Communicates PYA concerns and proposals in a respectful, solutions-oriented way
  • Seeks clarity on league decisions that impact PYA families and volunteers
  • Supports requests/approvals that require league input (as applicable)
5) Conflict Resolution & Escalation Path
  • Helps route league disputes or concerns through the appropriate channels
  • Coordinates with PYA officers/commissioners before official league escalation
  • Documents key communications when needed to support clarity and continuity
6) Internal Communication & Coordination
  • Provides timely updates to board members and program leads
  • Helps ensure coaches/teams receive consistent guidance where league rules apply
  • Coordinates with scheduling, registration, and roster leads as needed
Role Boundaries
The STL West Representative does not set PYA policy alone, make financial commitments, or commit PYA to league changes without board authorization. Decisions that impact budgets, roster policies, caps, or discipline require board review and approval. The representative’s role is to communicate, coordinate, advocate, and implement board-approved direction.
