This form helps us select a dependable person to support a safe, prepared, and well-organized environment for players, families, coaches, and volunteers. The Safety Coordinator helps ensure safety expectations are communicated clearly and followed consistently.
What you’ll answer
  • Your availability throughout the season (and during tournaments/events if applicable)
  • Experience with safety procedures, documentation, follow-ups, or coordination
  • Comfort communicating with adults (coaches, board members, volunteers) in a calm, consistent way
  • Comfort using simple systems (forms, spreadsheets, checklists) to track requirements
Quick role snapshot
Typical responsibilities may include:
  • Background check coordination to help ensure coaches, staff, and volunteers meet required screening expectations
  • Safety readiness support (basic preparedness, awareness, and making sure key items/processes are in place)
  • Documentation & follow-through (tracking what’s completed and what still needs attention)
  • Incident/concern reporting support (documenting what occurred and escalating through appropriate channels)
  • Consistent policy support (helping apply safety expectations fairly and consistently)
Role boundaries
This role helps coordinate and track safety requirements, but does not replace emergency services, medical professionals, or board authority. Safety concerns and incidents should be documented and escalated through PYA’s appropriate channels.
